A Results-Based Project Management training was held this week for more than 42 officials from the Ministry of Agriculture from all the geographical divisions.
The Ministry's Commodity officers and AIMS officers were informed of the Ministry's road map on modernizing the agriculture sector.
Among the training participants were Ministry middle managers, who were advised to also familiarize themselves with the restructures in the Ministry as part of efforts aimed at revitalizing the local agriculture sector.
While addressing the agriculture officials during the workshop, Officer-In-Charge of Crop Extension Services Mr Mohammed Kadir Khan encouraged staff of the Ministry to remain committed and dedicated to their roles as agriculture officers.
“You should be kept well abreast with our Costed Operational Plan as it maps out the deliverables of the Ministry, and with our aligned Business Plan and Strategic Development Plan that has clearly marked objectives, we must work towards meeting these desired goals and outputs set by the Ministry,” he said.
Commodity officers will be engaged at the national level, making it easier to address commodity related issues at the national level rather than reverting to the Divisional offices as is commonly being practiced.
Stakeholders from the European Union's PROMAC consultants were on hand to divulge important analytical messages and ideas to officials as they prepared themselves for these new structural changes in the Ministry.
Regional managers with senior agriculture officers together with technical officers were part of this very important exercise.
