With the opening of the 2024-2025 financial year, divisions within the Ministry of Agriculture and Waterways have been celebrating their success and are looking forward to excellent service delivery for the next 12 months.
The Central Division staff gathered at the Lakena Agriculture Station in Nausori yesterday to celebrate success and to prepare for the new financial year.
Speaking to the staff yesterday, Minister for Agriculture and Waterways, Hon. Vatimi Rayalu thanked officers for their outstanding contributions in their respective localities.
“I wanted to take a moment to extend my heartfelt thanks for the outstanding work you have been doing in advancing agriculture in Fiji. Your dedication and expertise have made a significant impact, and it is truly commendable,” said Hon. Rayalu.
“Your efforts in improving agricultural practices, promoting innovation, and supporting farmers are greatly appreciated. The progress we’ve seen in productivity and efficiency is a testament to your hard work and commitment.”
“As we move forward, I am confident that your continued efforts will further enhance our agricultural sector and contribute to the growth and sustainability of our farming communities. Let’s keep up the great work and strive for even greater achievements in the future.”
Sharing the same sentiments, Deputy Secretary for Agricultural Development, Dr. Tekini Nakidakida said that staff commitment to excellence and teamwork is crucial to the ministry’s success
“It’s your hard work, innovative thinking, and collaborative spirit that enable us to deliver outstanding service and make a meaningful impact and as we look to the future, it is important that we continue to build on this strong foundation. Let’s maintain our unity and keep pushing the boundaries of what we can achieve together. With your continued efforts and dedication, I am confident we will reach new heights and further enhance our service delivery,” added Dr. Nakidakida.
The Central Division team also bid farewell to Ms Naomi Wati who joined the team last year and was holding the position of temporary Agriculture Assistant (Suva).
Ms Wati thanked her work family for all the lessons learnt during her stint with the ministry.
“I will be joining the Fiji National University from next week and I hope to impart more agricultural knowledge to upcoming agriculturalists at the school so that they too will assist in growing agriculture in Fiji,” said Ms Wati.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Waterways thanks Ms Wati for her months of service and wishes her well in her new journey.
