HON. RAYALU ENCOURAGES BEEF FARMERS IN CAKAUDROVE

Livestock farming in Cakaudrove holds significant potential, particularly in beef production.

According to the Minister for Agriculture and Waterways, Honourable Vatimi Rayalu, beef farmers in Cakaudrove and other parts of Vanua Levu, are among the most dedicated and hardworking in the country.

“Their commitment to sustainable practices and quality livestock management is helping to boost the local economy and enhance food security. With continued support and investment in technology, these farmers are well-positioned to thrive and further develop the livestock sector in Cakaudrove.”

Last week, Hon. Vatimi Rayalu visited several commercial beef farms in Cakaudrove to engage directly with farmers.

During these discussions, he listened to their challenges, such as issues related to livestock management, market access, and resource availability.

He also highlighted the opportunities within the Ministry for support and development, emphasizing initiatives aimed at improving agricultural practices and increasing productivity.

Graham Keith Haynes is a respected figure in Cakaudrove, known for his dedication and hard work as a farmer.

He consistently prioritizes innovation in agriculture, implementing new technologies and machinery to enhance productivity and sustainability on his farm.

Mr. Haynes expressed his gratitude to Hon. Rayalu for taking the time to discuss his farming venture and visit his small abattoir.

“I appreciate the opportunity to share insights about the ongoing operations and the challenges on my farm,” said Mr. Haynes.
