Honourable Tomasi Tunabuna, the Assistant Minister for Agriculture and Waterways, was honoured to serve as the Chief Guest at the Ratu Kadavulevu School prize-giving ceremony on Saturday 30th November.
Reflecting on his journey as a proud Old Scholar, he shared words of inspiration with the students, recognizing their hard work and dedication.
He emphasized the importance of education, resilience, and making thoughtful choices, stating, "Education truly has the power to transform the ordinary into the extraordinary."
"You have all worked hard to do well in your exams in this academic year and it is great to see you all recognized for it," he said.
"I know your teachers and parents must be proud of everything you have accomplished and I am happy to be here celebrating your success with you. Looking at all of you today, I see the bright future ahead and it fills me with hope for all the amazing opportunities that awaits you," said the Honourable Assistant Minister.
"For those of you year 9 to year 12 that didn't receive any prize, don't let that discourage you, keep striving, there is always next year, keep striving for excellence and you will eventually see the fruits of your labour. Aim high, establish your goals and dedicate yourselves to reaching them."
"Students, cherish the excitement of learning, be curious, pursue wisdom and don't hesitate to aim high. Your time in school is moulding you into future leaders and visionaries," said Honourable Tunabuna.
"Trust in your abilities for each of you holds the potential to create a meaningful change in the world."
Honourable Tunabuna expressed his gratitude to the school administration, parents, guardians, old scholars and teachers on the achievements.
"We all have a unique chance to inspire and guide our students who are our sons and daughters, showing them that they can create a meaningful impact in our families, communities and beyond," he said.
"As we celebrate the RKS Centennial Year, let's continue to cherish the legacy of Ratu Kadavulevu School and strive for excellence in all our endeavours."
The Dux of the school, Esala Baleiyadua originally from Nawaikama village in Gau, Lomaiviti was particularly emotional and proud to receive this esteemed honour, dedicating it to his proud parents, families, current and former students and teachers. He added that it was through discipline, perseverance and dedication that he achieved this milestone.
