Senior Agricultural Officer (SAO) for Lau, Isei Sorokibau, conducted a talanoa session with the Moala island farmers today to discuss the upcoming two-week training program and its objectives. The session, which took place following the prize-giving ceremony at Moala District School, aimed to inform and engage local farmers about the Ministry of Agriculture's support and initiatives.
Mr. Sorokibau emphasized the Ministry of Agriculture's
commitment to supporting farmers through a subsidy program that offers assistance on a one-third to two-thirds basis. This initiative is designed to enhance agricultural practices and boost productivity across the island.
The talanoa session provided a platform for farmers to voice their concerns and share their experiences, fostering a collaborative approach to addressing agricultural challenges.
The event was also graced by the presence of Tui Moala, Iliesa Draunnidalo, who expressed his strong support for the government's initiative. His endorsement underscores the importance of community involvement and leadership in driving the success of agricultural programs.
