Around 45 participants from the Bua Province attended a two days Farmer Training on the 15th-16th of January at the Naulumatua Conference Room in Nabouwalu, Bua.
Organised by the Land Resources and Planning Division of the Ministry of Agriculture and Waterways, the training aimed to build farmer capacity in basic entrepreneurial and farm management skills.
It enabled farmers to learn and improve their knowledge, change their attitudes and enhance their skills toward improved farm commercialization –while working on their own farms.
Throughout the two days, participants built their knowledge on Sustainable Land Management and its implications, understanding the importance of soil testing as a management tool and how to cultivate quality vegetables and fruit trees.
The participants attending were representatives from the Tikina of Wainunu, Nadi, Vuya and Solevu.
