This week, the Minister for Agriculture and Waterways, Honourable Vatimi is in the Northern Division where he will be visiting Waterways project sites as well as farming communities.

Today he visited Navunievu Village in Bua where a 450 metres seawall project is nearing full completion. The construction of the seawall which started in 2021, is an important project, especially with the threat of seawater erosion and it will certainly help protect the foreshore from further damage.

Villagers showed their gratitude during a ‘Talanoa Session’ and said that the seawall will certainly protect them from the onslaught of seawater intrusion.

Hon. Rayalu said that the Ministry remains committed to improving waterways and supporting farming communities in the region.

Hon. Rayalu will continue his visit for the next three days in the Northern Division covering project sites in Bua, Cakaudrove and Macuata Provinces.
