ASSISTANT MINISTER TUNABUNA VISIT FARMS IN NAVUA

Navua, Fiji – Today, Assistant Minister for Agriculture and Waterways, Honourable Tomasi Tunabuna, visited Navua to inspect several farming areas impacted by drainage issues.

The visit emphasized the critical need for proper drainage and irrigation to enhance productivity and ensure the sustainability of the agricultural flatlands in the region.

During the visit, Hon. Tunabuna engaged with local farmers, discussing the challenges they face due to inadequate drainage and the impact on their agricultural output. He reaffirmed the government's commitment to addressing these issues and supporting the farming communities in Navua.

"We understand the vital role that proper drainage and irrigation play in agricultural productivity," said Hon. Tunabuna.

"Our goal is to implement effective solutions that will benefit our farmers and contribute to a more prosperous agricultural sector.

Navua has a lot of potential flatland areas and this is an area that needs to be addressed to uplift the standard of Agriculture."

The Ministry of Agriculture and Waterways is dedicated to improving the infrastructure and resources needed to support the agricultural industry in Navua and throughout Fiji.

The visit by Hon. Tunabuna highlights the ongoing efforts to address critical issues and promote sustainable farming practices.
