STRENGTHENING PARTNERSHIPS AND COLLABORATION WITH WORLD BANK

The Permanent Secretary for Agriculture and Waterways, Dr Andrew Tukana, and the senior management had a meeting today with representatives from the World Bank led by the Senior Social Development Specialist, Ms Caroline Sage.

The discussion focused on the Ministry’s ongoing programs and initiatives, providing the World Bank with valuable insights for potential collaboration under the Fiji EnABLE (Enhancing Social Inclusion in Carbon Finance & Climate Action) PASA mission.

This engagement is a significant step in building stronger partnerships to advance sustainable development and inclusive climate action.

This meeting also served as a follow-up regarding the outcomes of the National Women in Agriculture Symposium, focusing on how the Ministry can collaborate with the World Bank to prioritize intervention areas aimed at accelerating actions on women's empowerment within the agricultural sector.
