Tudreu's Eco Farm is situated in Sabeto, Nadi and is a haven for Mr Isei Tudreu and his hardworking wife, Daphne Tudreu. They moved to their farm after 40 plus years of living and working in Nadi Town.
Mrs Daphne Tudreu says that moving to their farm and living amongst nature has got to be the best decision of their lives.
Through their fruit tree orchard, Mrs. Tudreu has been able to produce so many products which she has been supplying to her regular customers in Nadi Town.
"I have now ventured into value addition and have been producing tamarind chutney, sweet mango chutney, an assortment of jams as well as pastries and cakes made with extra love from everything that is growing around me," she smiled.
Minister for Agriculture and Waterways, Honourable Vatimi visited the farm yesterday (20th March) and expressed his sincere gratitude for the venture that the Tudreu's have started.
"Value addition is an area that needs to be strengthened and I am happy to see that you have started your own business using the resources that you have. Please continue the great work that you are doing," said Hon. Rayalu.
With 25 acres of land, the couple wish to expand their fruit tree orchard which will in turn expand their value addition business.
"We hope that more women in our communities across Fiji are able to learn more about value addition and venture into their own businesses." they added.
"We need to be innovative and think of better opportunities for ourselves and our families."
The hardworking couple have been persistent in growing a variety of fruit trees as well as vegetables on their farm.
They strongly believe in growing organic plants, trees and vegetables and have set up composts around their farm to be used.
The couple hope that their story can be a source of inspiration to other families who are double minded about fruit tree orchards and value addition as a source of income.
