Agro-processing plays a crucial role in enhancing the agricultural sector's value chain and can significantly contribute to economic growth, food security, and job creation. For the Ministry of Agriculture and Waterways, focusing on agro-processing can lead to a multitude of benefits.
These were the sentiments shared to the management of Food Processors Fiji (FPF) in Suva this afternoon, by the Minister for Agriculture and Waterways, Honourable Vatimi Rayalu.
He thanked the company for the years of dedication to agro-processing which has been a lifeline to farmers in the rural parts of Fiji.
“Please continue with the good work and remain committed to growing the agro-processing industry in Fiji as you are also helping our farmers to raise their livelihoods,” said Hon. Rayalu.
They discussed on FPF’s current status, challenges and upcoming projects as well as continued collaboration with stakeholders, including farmers, industry experts, and investors.
Food Processors specialize in processing and packaging agriculture and marine based produce into premium foods. The product range includes local fruits, vegetables, root crops and sea foods that get sold in local market as well as exported around the world.
