The Assistant Minister for Agriculture and Waterways, Honourable Tomasi Tunabuna, visited the Ba River mouth to inspect the ongoing dredging works aimed at improving passage access and ensuring the river remains navigable for the surrounding communities.
The dredging project, currently underway, is expected to bring significant advantages to the villages along the Ba River, enhancing accessibility, flood mitigation, and supporting local livelihoods.
During his visit, Hon. Tunabuna met with community members to discuss how the initiative will contribute to environmental sustainability and economic opportunities in the region.
“The dredging work here is crucial, not only for safe river passage but also for protecting communities from the risk of flooding and enhancing agricultural productivity,” said Hon. Tunabuna.
