MINISTRY CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL HR DAY

The Ministry of Agriculture and Waterways, Human Resources Development and Services staff proudly joined the global celebration of International HR Day under the theme “Humanify AI: Leading Change Together”.

International HR Day celebrates the vital contributions of HR professionals in fostering inclusive, adaptive, and productive workplace environments.

In his address to the staff, the Principal Assistant Secretary, Mr Sushil Singh, highlighted the critical role HR plays in shaping the future of work.

“This year’s theme reminds us of the vital role HR plays in navigating the developing landscape of work, and ensuring that technology serves to empower and not replace our most valuable asset: Our people,” he said.

He said International HR Day is not only a time to celebrate achievements but also an opportunity to reflect on the challenges and possibilities ahead.

“We are entering a new era where AI is rapidly transforming how we work, and HR professionals are at the forefront of managing this change,” said Mr Singh.

“Let us use this International HR Day as a call to action to embrace change, innovate, and collaborate. Let’s continue to learn, adapt, and empower our organizations and people to thrive in the face of a rapidly evolving world.”

He also acknowledged the HR professionals who work tirelessly to build and maintain thriving workplaces.

Guest speakers from the Ministry of Civil Service gave insightful presentations at the celebration, focusing on this year’s theme and the changing role of HR in using technology and working together to lead change.

A representative from the Ministry of Health and Medical Services also addressed the crucial topic of mental health, emphasizing the importance of well-being in the workplace.

The event highlighted the dedication of HR professionals in creating supportive and progressive work environments.
