The Assistant Minister for Agriculture and Waterways, Hon. Tomasi Tunabuna, visited the Nagigi Naag Mandir in Labasa during his journey to Wainikoro yesterday.
While at the temple, Hon. Tunabuna took the opportunity to meet with the temple’s priest and committee members, engaging in a thoughtful discussion on how faith-based institutions can play a vital role in guiding and uplifting today’s youth.
Recognizing the importance of spiritual guidance and mentorship, Hon. Tunabuna expressed his appreciation for the temple’s commitment to fostering values, discipline, and community support for young people.
"Places of worship are not just centers of faith, they are pillars of wisdom, guidance, and support for our youth. The conversations we had today reaffirm the importance of working together to ensure that young people have the right values, opportunities, and encouragement to build a strong future," said Hon. Tunabuna.
The priest and committee members shared insights on the temple’s ongoing efforts to engage youth in cultural, educational, and moral development, emphasizing the importance of faith in shaping responsible and empowered individuals.
Although the visit was unplanned, it provided a valuable opportunity for open dialogue and collaboration, reinforcing the shared commitment between faith leaders and government representatives in supporting youth development and community well-being.
