EQUIPPING LIVESTOCK OFFICERS FOR EFFICIENT SERVICE DELIVERY

August 5, 2025

Livestock officers in the Northern Division have been equipped with veterinary kits that include essential tools such as thermometers, suture kits, hygiene supplies, and clinical instruments.

These kits will enable officers to provide responsive and high-quality veterinary care in the field.

This initiative marks a major step forward in Fiji’s ability to combat animal diseases, reduce livestock mortality, and support rural livelihoods.

Officers from Cakaudrove, Bua, and Macuata were officially handed their kits by the Principal Agriculture Officer (Northern), Mr. Sujendra Prasad.

In his address, Mr. Prasad reminded the officers of their critical role in safeguarding animal health and urged them to make full use of the kits to enhance service delivery in their respective communities.

“This investment in veterinary services is an investment in our farmers and our food security,” he said.

“I urge all officers to use these tools diligently and maintain the highest standards of care in the communities you serve.”
